5 things Folderfinch does
- Moves your files, never deletes them.Every move is a rename inside the folders you pick; nothing goes to the trash unless you choose Clean up.
- Asks an AI about names and details.File names, types, sizes, dates and folder names go to the AI you choose (or stay on this computer with a local model).

What stays on your computer, always
Your files; the local database of answers, plans and rewind history; your API keys (in your system keychain); anything the local secret scan finds; audio if you talk to Folderfinch (dictation runs on your device and is never saved).

Before anything is sent, a scan on your computer blanks secrets it can find: keys and tokens, card and account numbers, passwords, ID numbers. Screenshots that look private are never sent as pictures.
Choose a local model (for example Laya, run with Ollama or LM Studio) and nothing about your files leaves your computer.
The Week Pass relay
If you buy a pass, requests go through our relay to the AI providers. We keep your account email, the pass dates, and usage counts (number of calls and tokens) to enforce the allowance. We don't store request contents. Payments are handled by Stripe.
No tracking
No analytics or ads in the app. Crash reports and the anonymous "a rewind happened" counter are off unless you turn them on.
Providers we may send data to
Only the one you pick: TypeSafe (Jev), OpenRouter and the model it routes to (with provider data collection set to "deny" where supported), OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or your own local model.
Your controls
Change the AI, the reading level, or go fully local any time in Settings; delete the local database from Settings; ask us to delete your Week Pass account by email.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics or trackers; its fonts are served from here. If you use the contact form, we keep your name, email address and message so we can answer you. If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, your language and the kind of computer you use, so we can tell you when Folderfinch is ready for it. We delete either if you ask.
Changes
Folderfinch asks you to agree again if this policy changes.
